HSU Women’s Basketball announces recruiting class

ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM) – The Humboldt State University Women’s Basketball Team released the recruiting class of 2020.

Coach Michelle Bento-Jackson announced there are 13 signees. The group includes five freshmen, six junior college transfers, and two four-year institution transfers.

Coach Bento-Jackson said it is a large group, but the team is ready to cultivate relationships and get to work. She also said there will be a large learning curve as there is an urgency for players to grow up quickly. She believes her team is ready for the challenge.

The recruiting class includes Mariah Barraza (freshman), Samantha Caires (junior), Citlaly Davalos (junior), Davina Del Castillo (senior), Dejanae “DeDe” Franklin (freshman), Sophia Hughes (junior), Julia Iman (junior), Haylei Janssens (junior), Kazimierz “Kazee” Parks (freshman), Madison Parry (freshman), Ashley Taylor Peralta (junior), Sharon Roldan (junior), and Katie Schwan (freshman).
