Hoopa ceases non-emergency operations, 6 active Covid-19 cases on the reservation

HOOPA, Calif. (KIEM) — The Hoopa Valley Reservation is shutting down all non-emergency operations for the next 14 days.

The decision made by the Hoopa Tribal Council is in response to having 6 active Covid-19 cases on the reservation right now. This time will allow for contact tracing to be completed, as well as give individual travel departments time to create re-opening safety plans.

The tribe has reestablished an incident management team to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19. The K’ima:w Medical Center would like to remind the community that travel outside of Humboldt County is restricted, and you must have an approved travel plan.

For more information, you can contact the Covid-19 hotline at (530) 625-8100.
