7 new Covid-19 cases reported Tuesday, total case count is now 293

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Public Health Department reports 7 new cases of covid-19 Tuesday bringing Humboldt County’s total case count to 293. The county’s overall threat level remains at level 3.

Right now, health officials are monitoring 56 active cases. There have been 233 recoveries reported and 19 hospitalizations to date.

Of the total cases, 161 had contact to a known case, 70 were travel related, and 43 were a result of community transmission. Currently, there are 19 cases still under investigation.

County Health Officer Dr. Frankovich reminds the community that a stocked emergency kit is important to have on hand for all kinds of events, including the Covid-19 pandemic. She says having supplies on hand can come in handy if someone in your home becomes ill with Covid-19 and everyone needs to stay put and quarantine.
