3 new cases of Covid-19 reported Friday, 5 active cases among K-12 children

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Public Health Department reports 3 new cases of Covid-19 Friday bringing Humboldt County’s total case count to 345.

One more hospitalization has been reported as well bringing the total number of hospitalizations to date to 21. The number of recoveries remains unchanged.

Health officials are currently monitoring 64 active cases. Of the total cases, 209 had contact to a known case, 79 were travel related, and 49 a result of community transmission. Right now, there are 8 cases under investigation.

One additional student at HSU has tested positive for the virus. Public Health also announced that right now, there are only 5 active cases of Covid-19 among K through 12 children. No students in Fortuna who have been attending classes on site have tested positive for the virus.
