HCSO seeking information regarding animal cruelty investigation

SAMOA, Calif. (KIEM) – An injured female dog has been euthanized after she was found in the Samoa Dunes. Humboldt County Animal Control is seeking information from the public regarding the animal cruelty investigation.

On Monday, shortly after 10 a.m., animal control officers responded to the ATV Staging Area on Bunker Road in the Samoa Dunes Recreation Area after a community member found the injured dog.

Upon transportation to a veterinarian for treatment, it was discovered that the dog had been shot several times.

Due the significance of injuries and pain, the decision was made for the dog to be humanely euthanized.
