HCSO recovers human remains near Kneeland Road

KNEELAND, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has recovered human remains near Kneeland Road.

On August 30th around 7:45 pm, HCSO was contacted by a motorist about human remains located down an embankment at a turnout on Kneeland Road.

Sheriff’s deputies located a deceased female later identified as 32-year-old Tawny Deann James. James’ cause and manner of death are unknown. An autopsy is scheduled for September 3rd.
