Growing Hopkins Fire forces evacuations in Three Forks in Ruth

RUTH, Calif. (KIEM) — The Hopkins Fire burning in Trinity County, which is the northwest part of the August Complex Fire, is moving in a westerly direction and forcing evacuations for the surrounding areas.

According to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, the community of Three Forks in Ruth, California is under mandatory evacuations including Horse Ridge Road to Travis Ranch Road. People are advised to use Upper Mad River Road to Ruth and Mad River for evacuation.

Multiple agencies are responding to assist residents with evacuations. A temporary evacuation point has been established at Mad River High School at 600 Van Duzen Road.
