Slater and Devil Fires burn over 150,000 acres

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Slater and Devil Fires continue to burn more than 150,000 acres, but firefighters are beginning to make progress on containment.

The Slater Fire is 146,600 acres and 13% contained. The Devil Fire is 7,100 acres with 7% containment.

In Gasquet, firefighters are working to complete operations to secure the fire edge at the intersection of Highway 199 and Knopki Road.
