Local community comes together to help repaint map of the world at Hydesville Elementary School

FORTUNA, Calif. (KIEM)- Students at Hydesville Elementary School in Fortuna will have a surprise for them when they return to school next week.

Locally community members came together to help make the school a little more colorful.

Members of the Hydesville Parent Group and volunteers have joined forces to help create a masterpiece of artwork on the playground, and the map wasn’t the only thing that was painted. The playground will now feature newly painted hopscotch and games for kids to enjoy.

Thanks to JB Fabrication, new basketball hoops will be another added asset for children to enjoy.

School Resource Officer Lindsey Frank has been working first hand since the project began and says she can’t wait for the kids to enjoy a newly renovated piece of their school.
