Humboldt Bay Fire Engine 8117 returns from helping battle August Complex West Zone

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)- After almost two weeks Humboldt Bay Fire Engine 8117 has made its return to the North Coast after helping battle the August Complex West Zone. 

Engines were staffed with three crew members at all times, including a Captain, Engineer and a Firefighter. A total of nine were on staff helping with rotations to relive one another.

When on location firefighters assisted first hand with conducting burn operations, patrolling, protecting structures, extinguishing hot spots.

Battalion Chief  for Humboldt Bay Fire Nick Launius states that having surrounding fires near the county, HBF would help in any way that they could.
