Zogg Fire grows to about 52,000 acres, 4th fatality confirmed

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Crews continue to battle the Zogg Fire burning near Igo in Shasta County. The fire is just shy of 52,000 acres in size and is only 7% contained.

A 4th fatality was confirmed by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday. So far, 146 structures have been destroyed with more than 1,500 more threatened.

Evacuations and road closures remain in effect for the surrounding areas. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
