August Complex Fire reaches 1,011,493 acres

HUMBOLDT, MENDOCINO, AND TRINITY COUNTIES, Ca. (KIEM) – Firefighters battling the August Complex Fire were able to use favorable wind conditions to help strengthen fire lines in multiple areas.

Residents near Alderpoint may have noticed the fire a little closer to home last night as crews utilized back-burning operations to help build containment lines.

This will help to keep the fire from entering Humboldt County.

The complex is 1,011,493 acres with 60% containment. There are now over four thousand people fighting the flames in the four zones of the fire.
