Red flag warning near Slater and Devil Fires

DEL NORTE AND SISKIYOU COUNTIES , Ca. (KIEM) – Crews continue their fight against the Slater and Devil Fires Burning in Del Norte and Siskiyou Counties.

The Slater Fire is nearly 157,000 acres with 80% containment.

Aerial and ground patrols are monitoring the Northeast corner of the fire near Swan Creek.

Power lines on Happy Camp Highway have been re-energized and crews continue to remove hazardous trees in the area.

The Devil Fire is more than 8,800 acres with 60% containment.  It is in patrol status and crews are primarily using air and drone surveillance to monitor the fire.
