85th day of The Red Salmon Complex Fire

KLAMATH, SIX RIVERS, AND SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FORESTS , Ca. (KIEM) – The Red Salmon Complex fire has now burned more than 143,000 acres with 66% containment.

Fire activity continues in The South Fork of the Salmon River, Methodist Creek, Plummer Creek, and the East Fork of the New River.

Native American crews are suppressing the fire near culturally sensitive areas in the Devil’s Backbone.

As fire containment increases crews will return the many miles of hose, water pumps, and portable water tanks back to the camp.
