Good News: no measurable growth of the Devil Fire

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Good news for crews fighting the Devil Fire: there has been no measurable growth of the flames in several days.

The Devil Fire has burned nearly 9,000 acres and is at 67% containment. It is being monitored by aviation resources, and no personnel are currently assigned on the ground.

The Slater Fire is now at 85% containment and has burned close to 157,000 acres.

It continues to show scattered pockets of heat in the interior and limited active fire edge remains.

Happy Camp Highway remains closed to the public due to hazardous trees.
