HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – The Red Salmon Complex Fire is more than 144,000 acres with 78% containment. Over the past few days and less smoke is being seen in the area of the fire.

The improved visibility allowed for a clear view of the fire from the air, which confirmed that it remains of the west side of Plummer Creek.

Three helicopters are currently assigned to fighting and monitoring the fire, and suppression repair remains in full swing.

The fire is now contained on the Six Rivers and Hoopa Valley portions of the complex.
