The Slater and Devil Fires’ containment remains consistent over the weekend

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Good news for the Slater and Devil Fires, containment has remained steady over the weekend with very little change to the number of acres burned.

The Slater Fire is 85% contained with just over 157,000 acres burned.

An infrared detection flight late on Sunday night showed an additional 47 acres of fire growth near Swan Mountain.

The Devil Fire remains at 67% containment and has burned more than 8,800 acres with no measurable growth seen in several days.

Happy Camp Highway remains closed at this time due to hazardous trees along the road way.
