BLUE LAKE, Calif. (KIEM)-A local casino announced yesterday the closing of their restaurants after a beverage employee tested positive for Covid-19.

The Blue Lake Rancheria Tribe chose to temporarily shut down all restaurants at the Blue Lake Casino Friday – the Wave Lounge however will remain open.

The tribe says they are working closely with the Humboldt County Department of Health on contact tracing and rapid testing.

All casino staff who came in close proximity to the positive case have been sent home and will be tested for the virus.

Should a casino employee test positive for Covid-19, the tribe says, they are prepared to shut down the casino down all together.
