29 new Covid-19 cases, 21 recoveries reported since Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department reports 29 new cases of Covid-19 since Friday bringing the total number of cases to 687. Health officials are monitoring 65 active cases.

In the last week, 5 more cases have been reported in northern Humboldt, 59 more cases in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and 2 more in southern Humboldt.

The largest weekly increase was among people in their 20’s with 15 new cases followed by 30 year olds with 13 new cases and 50 year olds with 12. People in their 60’s saw 8 new cases. Ten to 19 year olds saw 7 new cases. People in their 40’s saw 5 and people in their 70’s saw 4 new cases. No new cases among people 80 years old or older have been reported in the last week.

One new hospitalization was confirmed Monday as well. On a more encouraging note, 21 more recoveries have been reported bringing that number to 612.
