A man was arrested after hitting an EPD vehicle in an attempt to escape the scene.
The Humboldt County Drug Task Force served a search warrant on 29-year-old Christopher Sovereign and the residences associated to him.
Sovereign attempted to leave the scene, as officials tried to conduct a traffic stop. A different officer attempted to get in front of his escape route and that is when Sovereign collided with the Eureka Police Department vehicle.
After searching the vehicle, officials located a loaded glock, a stolen handgun, 41 grams of methamphetamine, and paraphernalia. Sovereign was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
According to officials, there were no injuries to officers or the involved party.
