Del Norte County’s increase in Covid-19 cases causes delays in updating data dashboard

DEL NORTE COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Del Norte County has been getting an increase in Covid-19 cases recently, but the rising number has resulted in delays in updating the county’s data dashboard.

The last update was posted on November 25^th and reported 40 confirmed cases. The California Department of Public Health’s open data portal says Del Norte has a total of 388 confirmed cases as of Thursday. That’s 81 in the last week and 137 in the last 2 weeks.

Del Norte County Public Health posted to their Facebook page saying the amount of cases, and contacts from each case, in the last two weeks has been overwhelming. We reached out to Del Norte County for comment, and an updated case count, but have not heard back.
