15th Covid-19 related death, 17 new cases reported in Humboldt County Thursday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department reported the 15th Covid-19 related death Thursday. The person was in their 100’s and was a resident at Granada Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. Six residents have died of Covid-19 as of Thursday morning.

Seventeen new cases of Covid-19 were reported as well. Health officials are monitoring 391 active cases. Six people are currently hospitalized, and 3 of them are in the ICU. Northern California’s ICU capacity has dropped slightly to 25.8%. We are the only region in the state not under a regional stay at home order.

The biggest mean of transmission is still contact to a known case, but 643 cases are still being investigated. The number of recoveries remains unchanged.
