Shafer’s Ace Hardware Thanks Essential Workers

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Shafer’s Ace Hardware recently donated a bar-b-que grill and propane tank to the Eureka police department and the Humboldt county sheriff’s office. 

Owner of Shafer’s Ace Hardware, Jack Rieke, says, “I just want to show the local business people thank the police department for all they do as a front line workers. I know they’re all under a lot of stress and stuff like that so we just want to try to make their life a little easier.”

The Eureka police department shared a photo of their new grill on their Facebook page saying, “As soon as gatherings are permitted and safe, we plan to have some delicious community bbqs! Thank you!”

Shafer’s Ace Hardware also delivered two grills and propane tanks to the fire department today to show their support for front-line workers in our local community during these trying times.
