147 new Covid-19 cases, 32 more recoveries reported since Thursday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Public health department reports 147 new cases of Covid-19 since Thursday. One previous case was a duplicate, so the total case count is now 1,910 with health officials monitoring 720 active cases.

In the last week, 39 more cases were reported in northern Humboldt, 189 more in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and 35 more cases in southern Humboldt. The biggest weekly increase has been among people in their 20’s with 64 new cases reported followed by 30-year-olds with 52 new cases.

The mean age of cases is 38 years old. Roughly 53% of cases are women, about 46% are men, and for about 1% of cases gender is listed as other or unknown.

Northern California’s ICU capacity is at 30%. There are 7 people in Humboldt County hospitalized with Covid-19 and 2 of them are in the ICU. On a more encouraging note, 32 more recoveries were also reported bringing that number to 1,168.
