Police respond to crash involving 5 vehicles in Eureka

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) — Eureka Police responded to a crash involving 5 vehicles Monday morning near the intersection of 7th and E Streets. According to police, it happened just after 10:15 am.

EPD says the driver of a Subaru failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and collided with a white pickup traveling on 7th Street. A garbage truck also driving on 7th Street attempted to avoid the crash and drove off the road into a parked semi-truck.

One minor to moderate injury was reported. Police say DUI is not a factor. Despite the wet weather, police don’t believe it was a factor in the crash.
