Man arrested for robbery, threatening 3 men with a hatchet

WILLOW CREEK, Calif. (KIEM) — A man is in custody after confronting a group of men with a hatchet. Last Monday, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a business on Highway 299 in Willow Creek.

22-year-old Thomas William Carlson reportedly approached 3 men outside and at some point, they started arguing. That’s when HCSO says Carlson grabbed a hatchet and threatened the men. He then reportedly stole a backpack and fled into the business.

Carlson was taken into custody and booked on charges of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, and criminal threats.
