Local hometown hero saves business after buying iconic building

FERNDALE, Calif. (KIEM)-Hometown hero Guy Fieri, of the famed TV show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, is the new owner of the iconic butcher and sandwich shop’s building located at 376 Main Street in Ferndale, confirmed Ferndale’s Chamber of Commerce President Thomas Nicholson-Stratton.

The purchase was made back in January for nearly $300,000, according to Nicholas Stratton.

Unforeseen circumstances forced the building’s owner to put the property on the market, according to an employee at the famed meat shop.

To assure the Ferndale Meat Co., where Fieri worked at as a child, would continue its residency on Main Street, he bought the building, according to Nicholas Stratton.

Fieri has no plans on changing anything about the business, the only change, is the property owner.
