Eureka City Council to vote on sending letter to elected officials about local CRV concerns

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) — The Eureka City Council is set to vote on sending a letter to elected officials expressing concerns over the fact that local grocery stores are facing fines for not offering CRV redemption services.

Humboldt County is still without CRV buy back services in the region, and CalRecycle fining grocery stores $100 a day for not providing these services is only making the problem worse, according to the letter. The City says a 60 day notice to stores to implement buy back services during the pandemic isn’t feasible and is out of touch with the community’s needs.

“A lot of the problems with what’s happening with CRV are built into laws that were written in the 80’s that just aren’t relevant. This is something that because of our isolation and our rural nature, is pretty specific to Humboldt so it doesn’t have the impact on a state level that other issues do, but it is certainly impacting us in a huge way,” according to Eureka Mayor Susan Seaman. buy albenza online https://andnewbloonline.com/albenza.html no prescription

If approved, the letter will be sent to Governor Newsom, Senator Mike McGuire, and Assemblymember Jim Wood. The City has been reaching out to officials about the issue since October of last year. buy adalat online https://andnewbloonline.com/adalat.html no prescription
