Governor Newsom announces a possible Statewide reopening date

Governor Gavin Newsom

SACRAMENTO, CA. (KIEM) – Governor Gavin Newsom announces that the State of California will fully reopen its economy again on June 15th, provided that two things happen:

First, the State’s Covid-19 vaccination supply must be sufficient for all Californians age 16 and older who want to be vaccinated.

Second, hospitalization rates need to be stable and low.

If that happens, Newsom says that mask wearing will continue to be a Statewide mandate.

Right now, 20 million vaccines have been administered- including 4 million which are located in hard-hit communities.
