Food drive for Food for People

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Food for People will be hosting a virtual food drive to help the hungry in Humboldt County.

The food drive will take place on the second Saturday of May to help prepare for a surge of need when schools are closed for the summer.

The event will be largely virtual this year. Each dollar donated can purchase three times the amount of food because Food for People is able to buy items at wholesale.

For those who wish to donate items in person, multiple drop-off locations at post offices and grocery stores in Eureka, Arcata, and McKinleyville .
