The first tour of the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary will be Saturday, May 15 at 2 pm.

The tour is a 90-minute walk and will be guided by FOAM president, Elliott Dabill, who will cover things like the purpose of the Arcata Marsh, its relationship with Arcata’s integrated wastewater treatment system, the surrounding watersheds and bay and their link with the earth’s water cycle.

Dabill says that there will be some changes to how the tours will be done in order to follow COVID-19 guidelines.

“Distancing will be important, six feet apart,” said Dabill. “We just purchased a group of audio headsets to help with that.”
