Fire Academy Graduates

NORTH COAST, Calif. (KIEM) Cal Fire is getting ready for another peak-wildfire fire season this year and the agency will now have 25 new local firefighters to help in that battle. Twenty-five students have just graduated from College of the Redwood’s Basic Firefighter Academy. Those students have attained the certification and training required for entry-level firefighter jobs with Cal Fire. The Shelter Cove, Fortuna, and Humboldt Bay Fire Departments all assisted with the academy.
