STRANDED HIKERS RESCUED

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) Several hikers had to be rescued from the Lost Coast Trail after becoming stranded in stormy weather. The United States Coast Guard sector for Humboldt Bay used a helicopter to hoist the three stranded hikers to safety. It happened along the Lost Coast Trail south of Punta Gorda. The trio became stuck on the night of April 18, 2022, when rain-flooded creeks and high seas cut off their only routes out.
