Santa Arrives in Old Town Eureka!

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Santa arrived in Old Town Eureka this afternoon, making his grand entrance on a Humboldt Bay Fire truck. Families gather near the gazebo to greet the special guest.

β€œIt’s all about the little guys and Christmas keeping the mystery and the magic alive,” said Eureka resident, Dan Hauser.

Many little ones were thrilled to see Saint Nick in the flesh.

β€œHe was on top of the fire truck. He wasn’t in the fire truck, he was on top,” said an excited Bodhi Hauser, who was there to witness Santa’s arrival.

Drake Cody, who was visiting from out of town, says he missed Santa last year so catching him today made him happy.

β€œWe didn’t see him… or we saw him last year, but we only saw him like leaving. So we didn’t actually get to see him last year. It was very exciting this year,” said Cody.

In addition to Santa’s arrival, there were also holiday activities provided by Tanya TeaFairy, a local entertainer and artist.

β€œCandice is helping the kids make letters to Santa and ornaments for people’s trees… and I’m doing balloon sculptures, holiday-themed… and Lila is painting little face paints on people’s cheeks. Their little rosy little cheeks,” said Tanya Nordberg aka Tanya TeaFairy.

If you missed it today don’t worry because Santa will be at the gazebo again this Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm – 3 pm, as well as throughout December.
