Lacks Creek Restoration Grant

EUREKA, Ca.- The Bureau of Land Management will use $100,000 from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for Restoration and Improvement Projects in the Lacks Creek management area.

Lacks Creek is within the park protection zone for Redwood Creek, which flows through the old-growth redwood stands in redwood national and state parks.

The 8,600 acre management area is located 20 miles northwest of Eureka.

The Hoopa Valley Tribe will partner with the agency on the projects to increase fire resilience and restore the prairie and oak woodland.

More than $4 million in Cal Fire Forest Health Program grants on habitat restoration and improvements have been invested to provide public recreation access.
