Humboldt County is filled with artists and community organizers. And there is a new pop-up project in town called MIXTA.

MIXTA is a multisensory project with hopes of becoming a non-profit organization.  The purpose is to build a community by centering two cultures at each event with art exhibitions, food, dances and performances.

“That’s our vision you know in a way create a space where all these communities, even if it’s minorities or anyone to have a space to show your talent or even just interact,” said Emilia Luna founder of Mixta. “In each edition, it will be changing so the next one probably is gonna be Peru edition and the next one Brazilian.”

MIXTA is a unique take on pop-up maker market events. Their focus is on uplifting the Latin community in Humboldt County and inviting everyone to come and enjoy a night filled with food entrees, performances and art.

To stay updated with the MIXTA follow them on social media platforms @mixtared. They hope to conduct more events soon and get into the groove of having pop-ups every month or so.
