T-Town Barbershop and Salon owned by Aliesha Brown, is currently the only barbershop and salon in Trinidad.

“I’m Native American, I’m Yurok and I’m Karuk and I grew up on the Trinidad Rancheria right down the road and my great-great-grandmother was born in the village of Cher-Ae which is now the town of Trinidad,” Brown said. “So to have a shop here and to be so close with the locals already is an honor.”

The shop opened its doors in May 2023 and has about five professionals who work as barbers, facial esthetics and lash esthetics. All the employees at T-Town Barbershop and Salon have worked together with Brown before and she says, “They’re all amazing, super talented.” According to Brown, she hopes to add two more people to the team. One person for the facial department and another person who can dye hair.

The barbershop and salon is filled with Indigenous art on the walls and it’s a fun-energetic environment to get your hair trimmed or gain a whole new look. T-Town Barbershop and Salon are open 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For updates about the beauty parlor can be found on Facebook or Instagram @ttownbarbershopandsalon.

“My favorite part of my job is being able to connect with the community and especially not being from up here, I’m from San Diego,” said Sawyer Molina, a barber at T-Town Barbershop and Salon.
