Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services is alerting the community to take caution on King Salmon Beach due to orange water caused by an algae bloom.

Samples were taken by a local fish and wildlife biologist and sent to the state lab for analysis. It will take about a week or sooner to receive more information based on the results.

Here’s what you need to know: if you are in King Salmon Beach do not swim in the water, do not let your pets to go inside or drink it, keep children away, and throw away any guts of fish caught in this area.
