Lone Pine, Holiday fires burn a combined 881 acres

Two major fires in Humboldt and Del Norte County are spreading after lightning and thunder reported in the last two days.

The Lone Pine Fire near Hoopa Valley has burned a total of 353 acres as of 10:02 a.m. Wednesday morning.

In Del Norte County, the Holiday fire near Long Ridge has burned a total of the 528 acres as of 9:22 a.m.

The information comes from the genasys Protect, formerly the Zonehaven Aware.

This comes after Cal Fire reported Six Rivers National Forest had caught 13 fires last night.

A majority of those blazes have been suppressed.

As for the air quality, the North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District has placed Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties under Good to Moderate air quality conditions.

The Six Rivers Lightning Complex fire in 2022 burned 41,600 acres.
