Del Norte County Power Outages & Boil Water Notices

Wildfire threatening power transmission lines

Due to the Smith River Complex Fire, Pacific Power de-energized the power lines to Del Norte County. The fire threatened the transmission lines into the county.

Thousands of people are without power and the Del Norte Office of Emergency Services says to “continue to plan for multi-day power outage.”

Emergency managers also report a tree fell on the water tower in the Church Tree subdivision. That means people who live on Church Tree and National Park Way are now under a boil water notice.

Communications within the county are spotty. A call to the Sheriff’s Office didn’t connect.

The Office of Emergency Services is able to get Facebook posts up.
