Humboldt Bay Fire’s Live Training on Humboldt Hill

Don’t worry it was just a drill!

Those of you driving by Humboldt Hill yesterday might have seen thick clouds of smoke, or if you were close enough, buildings on fire.

It was all part of Humboldt Bay Fire’s live training and it took place on Humboldt Hill Rd.

Humboldt Bay Fire received a training burn permit for the North Coast Air Quality Management District.

Live fire training is a great opportunity for firefighters to observe fire behavior and practice fire suppression techniques in their working environment.

The instruction provided to these Humboldt County firefighters will better prepare them to deal with fires in their communities.
