Over a dozen boats sailed across Humboldt Bay early Saturday morning for the annual Salty Santa Boat Parade. People enjoyed the boat parade along the boardwalk of the Eureka Waterfront. This was a collaboration between the Zerlang and Zerlang Marine Services and The Commercial Fishermen’s Wives.

“We came out because my son wanted to see Santa and it was fun and festive and a good time,” said Dylan Cimbura-Hernandez, a parade attendee.

People had the chance to meet Salty Santa on the Madaket Dock after the parade was finished for pictures and candy canes. People hope for more boats and a night event for next year’s Salty Santa Boat Parade. Many also enjoyed seeing The Grinch sail away in the parade.

“I always like to see the Madaket,” said Winifred Creamer, another parade attendee. “But I also liked the one at the end that was all decorated. [It] had a lot of family on it. That’s always fun too because you can see how much kids love being on a boat and waving to everybody.”
