PG&E crews will be working to repair a damaged transformer on Humboldt Hill Thursday night.

The utility company said the transformer was behind the power outage that affected more than 3,100 people on Wednesday.

While crews repair the transformer, they’ll turn off power to 715 customers.

They’ve allotted 12 hours for the repairs, but a PG&E spokesperson said it may not take that long.

PG&E will alert customers in the affected area before the power is turned off.
