FORTUNA – A burglar takes from the Eel River Disposal and Resource Recovery Facility in Fortuna, and then tries to sell what he took back to them.
26-year-old Samuel Zarth Rogers is the suspect, caught by surveillance cameras taking copper wires from the facility on Wednesday morning.
Rogers came back later that day with the copper wire and brass pipes that he took, and tried to make a buck by re-selling it to the facility through their buyback program.
As with most of their sellers, Eel River Disposal takes their picture, so facility has pictures of Rogers, a copy of his ID and pictures of the items he stole on top of the surveillance footage.
Rogers was previously arrested earlier in the month for drug violations and a parole hold.
If you know of Roger’s whereabouts, contact the Fortuna Police Department.
