CR’s Northern signs with Sonoma State

A College of the Redwoods women’s basketball player is heading back to the CCAA.

Sophie Northern signed her letter of intent Tuesday afternoon to play next season at Sonoma State.

After graduating from Arcata High School, Northern went to Humboldt State. But things didn’t work out and that’s why she left for Redwoods. The sophomore leads the 2-1 Corsairs with 26 points per game.

After making one visit to Rohnert Park, Northern said she knew Sonoma State was a perfect fit.
