Fortuna Middle School students participate in National Student Walkout

FORTUNA- Students at Fortuna Middle School walked out of class Wednesday morning for the National Student Walkout. It’s to honor the one-month anniversary of the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida.

The walkout is a protest to push lawmakers to pass stricter gun control laws. More than 3,000 walkouts were planned at schools nationwide.

The students at Fortuna Middle School made signs and stood silent for 17 minutes. One minute for each person who died at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School.
