Del Norte County Supervisors vote to ban commercial cannabis

DEL NORTE, CA. – Del Norte Supervisors pass an ordinance to prohibit commercial cannabis activity in the county.

As of their latest meeting, the board unanimously passed the Medicinal and Adult-Use of Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act – thus saying ‘no’ to recreational and commercial cannabis in Del Norte.

In December, the board had passed an urgency ordinance to ban commercial cannabis in light of pending state laws that would allow it, but come January 23rd, declined to extend it.

Now, the board is going back to restricting the substance, and the new ordinance will take effect come mid-April.

This decision will not affect residents from the right to grow up to six plants, as protected by the state’s Adult Use of Marijuana Act.
