EUREKA., Ca (KIEM)-The Humboldt Bay Fire station is in need of more firefighters.
As part of a national decline in emergency service personnel, the number of people willing to do the rewarding, yet dangerous career of firefighting is not what it once was. Humboldt Bay Fire Interim Chief Bill Reynolds says it’s mainly because of the risk of injury and cancer that he’s seen fewer applicants. currently, Humboldt Bay has four positions open and will be accepting applications until mid-April.
