Rio Dell, Ca., (KIEM)- It’s not unusual to see mountain lions in and around Rio Dell. However, the city has reached out to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and issued a public warning after rather unusual wildlife activity reports.
According to city reports, sightings have occurred along the river bar and in residential neighborhood frequented by children. The mountain lion has been spotted in broad daylight along Riverside and Eeloa Avenues, East of Highway 101.
There have also been reports of two separate canine attacks. One was fatal.
For now, residents are advised to keep children inside, and to exercise caution.
