Volunteers needed for trail improvement in Arcata

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM)- Aside from doing due diligence to help prevent wildfires, there are other ways you can make an impact in local forests in the summer months.
The City of Arcata’s Environmental Services Department and Humboldt Trail Stewards are asking for volunteers. They need help to “rock” or “armour” trails near Jolly Giant Creek.

Volunteering is simple. Anyone interested needs to arrive at the jolly giant commons parking lot this coming Saturday, July 28th at 9:00 a.m. The work will continue until 1:00 p.m. Parking permits will not be required, but volunteers should bring their own gloves, tools and water.
